Window and door replacement in Bridgnorth

The job

A homeowner in Bridgnorth asked us to replace every window and door at their countryside cottage. The existing units were old wooden frames fitted with single glazing. Single glazing offers limited insulation, so heat can escape more easily and the property can be harder to keep warm, while ageing frames and worn seals can let in draughts. Traditional wooden frames also need regular painting, sealing and maintenance to protect them from the weather. The job called for a complete replacement of all the existing windows and doors throughout the cottage.

What we did

We recommended replacing all the wooden, single-glazed windows and doors with modern double-glazed uPVC units. uPVC is durable, low maintenance and resistant to weathering, which makes it a practical choice for a countryside cottage, and double glazing can help reduce heat loss and outside noise compared with single glazing. We carefully removed all of the existing windows and doors and fitted the new double-glazed uPVC windows and doors throughout the property. For the finish we recommended Agate Grey on the outside, for a contemporary look that suits the surrounding countryside, with classic white on the inside to keep the rooms bright and clean. Once the installation was complete we removed the old materials and building waste and left the site clean and tidy.

The result

The window and door replacement has given this Bridgnorth cottage a fresh, consistent and modern look while keeping its traditional character. The Agate Grey exterior and white interior give a versatile finish that works with the style of the property, and the new double-glazed units can help improve insulation, cut draughts and make the cottage more comfortable compared with the original single glazing. It was a transformation we are proud of, and seeing the customer so happy with the finished result made the whole project worthwhile.
