Aluminium bifold doors and glazing in Redditch

The job

A homeowner in Redditch had existing timber-framed windows and doors set within an arched brick opening, and wanted them replaced with a modern, durable aluminium system that would improve both the look and the everyday use of the property. The job called for the old timber frames to come out and a made-to-measure aluminium installation to go in, with upper window sections above a set of bifold doors, all fitted within the existing brick arch.

What we did

We recommended a made-to-measure aluminium glazing system to give a modern finish, make the most of the natural light, improve access out to the patio and offer a low-maintenance alternative to timber. On site we carefully removed the existing timber windows and doors, dismantled the original frames, then cleared and prepared the opening and checked the surrounding brickwork. The new aluminium framework was accurately measured and positioned within the arched opening, then securely fixed, levelled and aligned for a clean, consistent finish. We paid particular attention to the curved brick arch and to the junctions between the upper glazing and the lower door sections. The bifold doors were fitted and adjusted, including the hinges, rollers, tracks and locking mechanisms, so they open smoothly and close securely. Perimeter sealing and weatherproofing were completed between the aluminium frames and the existing masonry, with careful attention to the threshold and the surrounding reveals.

The result

After final adjustments, operational checks and a clean, the original timber-framed opening has become a modern, durable aluminium installation. The new glazing complements the existing brickwork, brings more natural light into the home and creates a stylish connection between the interior and the patio. What makes this aluminium installation in Redditch worth showing is how neatly it fits beneath the existing brick arch, combining precise workmanship and modern design while keeping the character of the property.
